Cement board is used as a sub base for tile. As for joints you would need to fill them, which usally you use mesh tape and thinset and then apply tile, I am not sure what you have done.

well u do put cement board in a shower ceiling.....but not somewhere to paint it........maybe u ment sheetrock!..u have to tape and mud the joints...

dude you messed up cement board for the ceiling
take it down and use sheetrock
