How do i paint on cement walls? Is there a special base/primer that wont absorb?

I have a house in Mexico with cement walls, we went to Home Depot there and asked the guy for a primer, he suggested what turned out to be just white paint that absorbed into the walls unevenly. Anyone have ideas? How do i paint on cement walls? Is there a special base/primer that wont absorb?
There is something called block filler used for such applications. Don't know if Home Depot carries it, but a good paint store should. How do i paint on cement walls? Is there a special base/primer that wont absorb?
There is a cement block primer that you need to use, otherwise the block will absorb gallons of primer.
Try again with other brand of primer. Ask them for that one that also seals. Most primers leave an uneven first coat, you can set a second coat (of primer) and add 1 or 2 coats of color paint till is even.

Enjoy your painting.
