I am trying to paint my cement wall but the paint keeps on peeling off. Any ideas?

concrete is very porous and loves to retain water. if the wall you are trying to paint is in a damp or exposed area regular paint will just peel off. i use sunny dry concrete waterproofing paint, i prefer the powder. once it has cured you can paint over it with any colorI am trying to paint my cement wall but the paint keeps on peeling off. Any ideas?
Two things...

1-spra the wall with water and wipe it down then spray it again. A build up of dust or dry powder will not allow a proper mechanial bond to the surface.

2-Use one of two different paints...either ';drylock'; 0r ';elastomeric';

they are both made for water resistance and apply to concrete.... but only use it on walls because it works so good that if water ever does get in, it will not allow it back out which causes trouble. For walls it is perfect. Elastomeric is the contractors choice in Florida for this exact situation even in comercial application, and Florida sure knows about water troubles. I should know, I am a state licensed and certified building contractor in the state of Florida.I am trying to paint my cement wall but the paint keeps on peeling off. Any ideas?
Is it a block wall? In the basement? There are special paints for cement. You will have to prime it, I'm sure, but go to Menards or Home Depot or some such %26amp; read the labels on the cement paint. Don't be afraid to ask for help. Employees SHOULD know about the products %26amp; their uses. If it's a basement, you're for sure going to want something that's mold %26amp; mildew proof.
You are making a maintenance nightmare for yourself. Do not paint the wall. You will be sorry, very sorry.
There is a primer/sealer called KILTZ it is made for almost any application you can think of.
buy a paint that was made for stucco
go get new paint.
did you prime it first?
