How do I paint a cement fireplace hearth?

If you paint the fireplace heart the paint will burn the first time you use it.


If you dont'like the cement look you could line the surface with thin terra-cotta tiles.How do I paint a cement fireplace hearth?
Cleaning the hearth will be a monumental job. Buy some Krudd Kutter from K-mart to cut all the old residue. Buy some automobile engine spray paint and it won't burn off.
